Rediscovering my shoe collection

After chatting with the girls in the office today, I decided it was time to dust off my shoe collection that got relegated to the top of the wardrobe when I became pregnant with my beautiful daughter Grace.

Shoes
My poor relegated heels - stacked two deep!

When I got home this evening I couldn't wait to delve into my shoeboxes and remind myself of some of my favourite shoes. And, as I thought, I'd actually forgotten I had some of them!

Boots

The first pair I found were these gorgeous black cut out boots from Dorothy Perkins. They are a couple seasons old now but are still fab when worn with a tulip skirt, or skinnies. I love the stud detail across each band and the cute bow on each side. The last time I wore them was my birthday and the night was brilliant; lots of dancing - I love how even shoes have memories!

Heels, Belle & Mimi

These purple beauties are Belle & Mimi and were bought for a wedding. On this occasion they were worn with a dress of a similar colour but have since, on one particular occasion, been worn with black skinnies, a black swing vest and a black leather jacket. They stood out, that's for sure! I love these and wish I had more occasions to wear them.

Heels

These leopard peep toe heels, with their red toe bows are from River Island. I'm quite partial to leopard print shoes and this is one of three pairs I have - but are definitely my favourite. Not the easiest to walk in, or the comfiest, as I recall, but a gorgeous shoe all the same and I always felt 'the nines' in them. Night out anyone?!

Heels

Heels

From Matalan, these three strap & buckle heels reflect my love for vintage and are a little twist on a vintage shoe. They really have that old quality to them with the gold banding on the edges of the straps and down the sides. These were bought to go with a little black dress and have since been worn with skinnies, on numerous occasions.

I love how just this small selection of my collection has brought back quite a few memories of what they were bought for and how I felt in them. That's what I love about shoes. How they make you feel and a killer pair of heels never fails to make me feel the part and finish an outfit, just so.

So, my job tomorrow? To bring my shoes down to the level they deserve, in the main part of my wardrobe, where they belong!
